A typical venus’
fly trap which requires a period of dormancy during the winter
months. During this time it will lose its foliage and appear
to be dead. Do not worry as it will soon grow new leaves when
the warmer temperatures arrive. Stand in rainwater only as
the chemicals in tap water will slowly kill the plant.
It will sport small white flowers but it is advised to cut
its flowering stem off. A lot of energy is required to enable
it to flower and it will struggle to grow new traps at the
same time.
