The lower pitchers are more common
and prefer to rest on the ground rather than hang from
above. Their natural diet consists of insects, mostly
ants, and certain species of arthropods; though if kept
in a greenhouse you can feed them on just about anything
i.e. grubs, caterpillars, flies, slugs, snails etc...
In Nepenthes Rajah's natural environment the pitchers
have been known to trap lizards, birds and even small
mammals.
